In its core, life is simple: You eat a little, relax a little, have some fun and everything should work out fine. At least that’s how it was intended en can be. But look how we ended up: Instead of living a simple, enlightened life, where beauty can be found in the little things, we’ve turned everything around. We made simple things complex. More complex than it should be, spending our time and energy on things we do not need. Life has become a struggle.

But why project happiness to the future? A possible future which may not even come true or may lead to a huge disillusion. We live now so wouldn’t it make sense to be happy now as well? To me happiness is about being content with what I have now. Being able to enjoy every moment. Trying to find happiness in the future is an illusion. It’s not about the big things. It’s the little, normal, things that matter. It’s about listening to birds singing or enjoying the sun shining on my face.
